Prescription Refills
We ask that ALL refills are called in at least 3 hours before you plan to pick up the medication. All refills requested before noon will be ready for pick up after 3:00 pm, and any refills requested after 12:00 pm would be ready after 10:00 am the next day. For Saturday pick up, please call before 6 pm on Friday. Clients can also sign up for a free Vitus Vet account and request refills and appointments online.
Appointments
We ask that an appointment is made for any patient that needs to see a doctor. Walk-ins are welcome for procedures like nail trims, expressing anal glands, suture removal and other services that do not require a doctor. Occasionally, emergencies or very sick pets may require extra time with the doctor which may cause a delay in seeing our regularly scheduled appointments. We will make every effort possible to see your pet on time.
Payments
We require full payment at the time of services. Treatment plans with an estimate of procedure costs are always available at the client's request. We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards. We also accept Care Credit, a credit service available for medical/veterinary services. You may apply at our office or for your convenience apply beforehand online at https://carecredit.com/
Heartworm Tests
The American Heartworm Association and the American Veterinary Association recommends annual heartworm testing and exams to ensure that the heartworm preventative your pet takes monthly is working properly. Although heartworm preventatives are very successful, no medication is 100% effective; therefore we highly recommend an occult heartworm test be done once a year. Heartworm testing is required if the client requests a written prescription to get heartworm preventative from a source other than our hospital. Online pharmacies buy their products from a third party distributor and not directly from the drug manufacturer. Because of the third party involved, the makers of heartworm preventative products cannot ensure that the drug has been properly stored and dispensed. Please be aware that products purchased from internet retailers do not have the same guarantee that products purchased from our hospital have. As animal care specialists, we are concerned about your pet's health and we can ensure that your pet is being properly protected by doing yearly heartworm tests and providing its heartworm preventative.
